Why 2D measurement in the product plane is often more practical than heavy 3D

For countertops, windowsills and steps, what matters is not a beautiful volume of data but controlled geometry that can go to work immediately.

Why 2D measurement in the product plane is often more practical than heavy 3D

3D scanning produces a lot of data. For stone jobs this is not always an advantage. What you often need is not a point set by itself but a clear drawing in the product plane, ready for DXF and manufacturing.

Lazorex follows exactly this logic: it captures real points and builds 2D geometry immediately. That makes measurement easier to understand, verify and pass along the chain.

The strength of this approach is transparency. The operator controls which vertices enter the drawing instead of hoping that someone later interprets a point cloud correctly.
